Anacleto de Medeiros

Anacleto learned music while playing the piccolo at the Banda da Companhia do Arsenal de Guerra. He conducted and organized several bands, among them the one from textile factories in Bangu and Macacos, the Piedade Band and the Sociedade Recreio Musical Paquetaense. As the director of the Banda do Corpo de Bombeiros (The Fire Department Band), he was responsible for the recording of one of the first albums ever produced in Brazil. As a composer he created several polkas, xotes and waltzes.
