Brasílio Itiberê da Cunha

Brazilian composer and diplomat. Brasílio was the first to incorporate folk themes in classical music in Brazil. He became good friends with some of the greatest pianists of his time, such as Anton Rubinstein. He is the 19th patron of Academia Brasileira de Música (Brazilian Academy of Music). Among his main works and compositions, the one that stands out is A sertaneja (1869), considered the first Brazilian nationalist composition.
