Cândido Inácio da Silva
Considered author of the most beautiful and celebrated modinhas and lundus of the First Empire, he was a student of José Maurício Nunes Garcia, with who learned theory and chant. Among his compositions, stand out Lá no Largo da Sé Velha and the modinha Quando as Glórias que Gozei, Both of them were very popular in Rio de Janeiro during the first half of 19th century.
