Louis Moreau Gottschalk

  American composer and pianist, Gottschalk had great success in Brazil in 1869 when he performed in several theaters of the Brazilian court, after arriving in Rio de Janeiro while he was on tour in South America. He is the author of the renowned Fantasia Triunfal sobre o Hino Nacional Brasileiro.
