Catulo da Paixão Cearense

He was born in Maranhão and at the age of 17 moved with his family to Rio de Janeiro. in the capital, he started to meet with musicians such as Anacleto de Medeiros and Sátiro Bilhar, that were playing the Brazilian music style called choro. He is considered one of the most famous folk poets of Brazil, having written lyrics for Luar do Sertão by João Pernabuco and Flor Amorosa by Joaquim Callado.
