José Alberto Kaplan

Composer, teacher and pianist. He received numerous composition awards, among them the 2nd place in the National Choir Works Competition - MEC/FUNARTE and the 1st Prize at the First Brazilian Classical Music Composing Contest for Piano or Guitar MEC/FUNARTE. Among his orchestral works, the most notorious is the Abertura festiva, commissioned by the First International Christmas Music Festival.
