Trumpet
The trumpet is, like horn, an ancient metal instrument but still in use nawadays, and it is one of the orchestra's instruments. Its sound is the highest of metal family.
A bit history...
Ancient trumpets were built only in a single tube shape and in colonial period it was called clarim or trombeta in Portugal and Brazil. The modern trumpet has a little different shape. Among other modifications, its tube was lengthened and curved, and some pistons were added.

In 19th century, Jean-Baptiste-Debret portrayed trumpet's use in a carioca gentleman's procession of last rites.
