1st presentation with works by Guarnieri in Paris (1939). Source: AMA / IEB / USP
The catalog of works by Camargo Guarnieri, prepared by Flávio Silva, continues a manuscript by the composer interrupted around 1955, followed by the catalogs edited by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1977 and by the University of São Paulo in 1979.
The latter, with the update made in 1987 by Cinthia Prioli, was the main source of data for the current list of works.
New data were obtained in the Division of Music and Sound Archive of the National Library; thanks to information received, above all, from Maria Sílvia Pinto, Olga Maria Schroeter, Sérgio Nepomuceno Alvim Corrêa and, most especially, from Edmar Ferretti and Lutero Rodrigues; in texts and with the authors of texts included in this book; and with the composer himself.
The analysis, by Flávia Toni, of the correspondence between Mário de Andrade and Guarnieri, made it possible, at the last minute, to add new information.
The prefix CG was added to the numerical codes of the works, referring to the initials of the composer.
