Music Brasilis is mainly devoted to making music scores available. It started in 2009 with the issuing of 218 piano scores by Nazareth, made entirely available on the internet for the first time. At the same time, the Institute invested in publishing composers’ work who were active in the times of Brazilian Emperor D. Joao, like José Maurício Nunes Garcia, Marcos Portugal and Sigismund Neukomm. The partnership with the Brazilian Music Academy enables the viewing of the first pages of all the scores edited for the Score Database. Recently we purchased the published works by Alberto Nepomuceno, Henrique Oswald, Glauco Velasquez and Luciano Gallet. The mission is endless, but vital, even when it regards popular composers.
